These seedlings come from the same package of Thai basil seeds (source), planted 6 weeks apart. I gave them the same fluorescent grow light and kept them both watered. I used a different planting medium.
The ones on the right are 6 weeks older.

I have only recently become aware that there is a thing called “Thai basil,” and that it is Thai basil that gives Thai food with basil its distinctive taste. I just thought I was a bad cook.
Haha not at all! I love all the diversity of food types, I didn’t realize how many strains of stuff there were until I started buying seeds!
Wow, that is a huge difference in growth! Knowing about soil does matter.
